Buying a beverage fridge: size, noise, energy, glass door

A beverage fridge is bought quickly and used for years. To make sure it fits your business, look at five points: size, door type, noise, energy consumption and location.

1. How big does the beverage fridge need to be?

Plan for daily demand, not weekly demand. A 36 l countertop unit holds around 55 cans, a 90 l unit like the Freeze. ninetyB about 126 cans or 60 bottles of 0.5 l. For kiosks and drinks retailers, 460 to 1,100 l double-door units are worth it and arrive by freight. Adjustable shelves are a must when bottle heights vary.

2. Glass door or solid door?

A glass door sells: customers see the goods, reach for them more often, and LED light shows them off. A solid door is the choice when it needs to be quiet and closed, for example as a minibar in a hotel room or in an office. 3. Noise

4. Energy

A beverage fridge runs around the clock. Energy class B instead of D quickly saves 60 to 80 kWh a year on a 90 l unit. Double glazing with UV protection and good door seals keep the cold in, even when the door opens often.

5. Setting up and first use

Ten centimetres from the wall, out of direct sunlight, not next to the oven. After transport, let the unit stand upright for a day before plugging it in so the refrigerant settles.
